Aloha! At Sunnrise, we value your privacy as we do our own. We ensure that your data is used solely to provide you with the services you access through us. Your data is not shared with any third parties except as strictly necessary to provide those services. We strive to handle your personal information with care and respect, just as we expect ours to be handled.

Please read through the following privacy policy to see our commitment to transparency and your privacy.

User Information

• Currently Stored Data: We currently store only your email address.
• Future Data Storage Plans: In the future, we may store additional information related to the localization of content to enhance user experience.

We may use your email address to:

• Communicate with you about verifying your account
• Deliver important account-related information
• Facilitate authentication or payment services
• Offer password reset functionality
• Send you emails regarding new features and updates to our service
• Reach out for account support and feedback

To delete your account, please send a message to help@sunnrise.ai. Upon receiving your request, all information and settings related to your account will be removed from our database permanently.

Third-Party Login

• Data Received: If you choose to log in using a third-party login service, our authentication provider Auth0 will receive limited profile information about you, which may include your name, email address, and profile picture. This information is shared based on what you have chosen to make public with that provider.
• Use of Data: We do not store any of the profile information received from third-party logins. It is used to facilitate the login process.

AI Summarization Feature

When using our AI summarization feature, please note the following:

• Summaries generated through our summarization tool can be made accessible via a share link, allowing users share their summaries.
• User summaries are not placed in a public directory and are not searchable or accessible to the public, nor are they shared with any user identifiable data.
• We plan to offer greater control over accessibility in the future.
• For users with accounts, their activity will be saved to provide additional features, such as:
  • Access to the user's summary history
  • Bookmarking content
  • Ability to chat with content
  • Ability to search historical content
  • Provide the user with private RSS feeds of their own summaries

If you would like any summaries to be deleted, please email help@sunnrise.ai.

AI Chat Feature

• Conversations using the chat feature are cached for one hour in order to maintain conversational continuity
• Chat queries are not retained beyond that caching period

Content submitted for summarization and chat will be shared anonymously with external AI providers to carry out the task. The outputs generated by these providers are opted out of re-use, meaning they will not be used for model training or any other purpose beyond generating the requested content.

Cookies

We store the following cookie in your browser:

• App Session: This cookie, named `appSession`, is an opaque token used for authentication purposes and to maintain your session on our website. It is essential for the proper functioning of our service.

Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics to collect and analyze data about how visitors use our website. This helps us understand improve our service and make informed decisions.

Vercel Analytics adheres to privacy-friendly practices:

• Anonymous Data Points: The recording of data points (i.e., pageviews, custom events) is anonymous. This means the collected data is not tied to or associated with any individual, customer, or IP address.

• No Personally Identifiable Information: Vercel Analytics does not collect or store any information that would enable the reconstruction of an end user's browsing session across different applications or websites or personally identify an end user.

• No cookies: Cookies are not used to track or link user behavior.

IP Address Collection

• Non-Authenticated Users: For users accessing the site without logging in, IP addresses will be collected solely to prevent abuse. These IP addresses will not be used for any other purpose.

• Authenticated Users: For authenticated users, no IP address data is stored on our servers, with the exception of our authentication provider, Auth0.

• Auth0: For authenticated users, IP addresses are collected upon login by Auth0. This data is stored securely with our third party authentication provider, Auth0, and is not used for any form of tracking, targeting, or other purposes. It is collected solely for necessary operational requirements.

User Agents

• Usage: User agents are used locally on your device to disable features that are not compatible with all browsers.
• Collection: We do not collect user agent information in any way.

Logs

We collect logs for the following purposes:

• To understand which features our users are utilizing
• To monitor the performance of tasks executed on our system
• To assess the overall health and functioning of our system
• To identify and prevent abuse
• To log metrics related to the performance and utilization of our servers

Logs do not contain any information that can identify a user personally. They are used solely for the purposes stated above and are not employed for any other reason.

Logs are collected and retained for 30 days with our back-end provider, Railway.

Payment Information

• Third-Party Payment Processor: We use Stripe, a third-party payment processor, to securely handle credit card and billing information. We do not store your credit card details on our servers.
• Security: Stripe adheres to international security standards to ensure your payment data is protected. For more information about Stripe’s privacy practices, please visit their privacy policy.

Advertising and Tracking

• No Ads or Tracking: We do not display advertisements on our site nor do we engage in any form of tracking for advertising purposes.

How do we keep your data safe?

We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. However, despite our safeguards and efforts to secure your information, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, so we cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk. You should only access the Services within a secure environment and run trusted browser extensions.

Do we collect information from minors?

We do not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under 18 years of age. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18 or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to such minor dependent’s use of the Services. If we learn that personal information from users less than 18 years of age has been collected, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our records.
