About Sunnrise
Sunnrise is a text summarization and reading service that'll save you heaps of time from having to wade through the endless content on the internet, while also giving you the motivation to read the good stuff. Sunnrise can summarize darn near everything, giving you power over every possible thing you can consume on the internet.
The Motivation for Sunnrise
Sunnrise is named after my baby daughter, Sun. It's also the word summarize, smushed. It also reminds me of the beach, where I most enjoy reading. And yet, ironically, due to my daughter, those opportunities are few and far between.
Sunnrise was first a product for myself, a producer of laziness-enabling products, last year as a Siri shortcut. I wanted to find a way to free myself from the compulsion of downloading my entire 10,000+ Pocket archive before every flight with the misguided hope of finishing even one article.
The shortcut helped, but I wanted it to be better and faster, for it to handle longer and more types of content. Could I make something that would aid my focus, rather than deliver new distractions?
Large language models (LLMs) are hardly the panacea for artificial intelligence that some have believed. However, for summarization – along with some craft – they may just be.
Sunnrise will save you a lot of time – I'm certain of it. You will recapture the control over your content that you haven't felt in a long while.
